GUIDELINES ON HOW TO DISPOSE OF OFF SPEC CHEMICALS |
OHIO EPA STANDARDS |

The EPA always recommends that you find someone who can use or reclaim your outdated, excess or off-specification chemicals before you dispose of them. Sometimes the manufacturer will take the chemicals back and reclaim or reformulation. If someone else can legitimately reclaim or use them, the chemicals are not a waste under the hazardous waste rules. However, if they will be burned as fuel, used to produce a fuel or used in products that are placed on the ground and that is not their normal use, they are wastes and are subject to the hazardous waste requirements.
